That Long-Marbut link is interesting. John & Ann Thomas Marbut were my 4th great-grandparents, their daughter Eodus Everline ("Oda") Marbut was my third great-grandmother. Oda married my 3rd great-grandfather, Peterson McGill, sometime around 1850. Oda, who along with Peterson are mentioned in the minutes of the Puncheon Camp Baptist Church of Christ, died around 1870, after which time Peterson married his third wife, Sarah Sherrod. Interestingly, Peterson's first wife, who we believe died in childbirth in 1849, was Mahala LONG! I don't know what connection if any exists between Mahala and the other Giles Co. LONGS. If anyone does know, please let us know. Jim Davis On Sat, 22 May 1999, Minnie HILLIS REAGOR wrote: > He is probably connected to Washington Alfred LONG & Patsy Martha > MARBUT.
