Ok, Folks. I need some help. My Sanders Phillips born about 1812 in Chatham County, NC, was listed in the 1840 Marshall County (TN) Census. Then again in the 1850 Lauderdale County, AL, census - with a marriage recorded in Lauderdale County (AL) in 1845 - his seond marriage. My direct ancestor is John Thomas Phillips listed as one year old in the 1850 census. This is the deal - how can I find out more about his existence in Marshall County?? I have emailed their list and submitted queries but never a hint of a response! I am President of our Tishomingo County (MS) Historical and Genealoical Society as well as a look-up volunteer and realize the amount of time to answer - but surely someone can help in some way.
