Hoping someone can help me out. My gg grandfather James McKinney b.1774 Culpepper CO VA was one of the earlier settlers of Giles CO TN and then came to the northern territory of Limestone CO AL while it was still Indian territory and I have found quite a bit written on him and my gg grandmother Delila Caldwell McKinney. They married about 1803 and what I have on her is that she was born 1780 in East TN and while young removed with her mothers family to a point on Ragsdale Creek in Giles CO.TN. What does that mean, removed with her mothers family,and I probably should know,but where is Ragsdale Creek? I was told that both of Delila's parents were Indians.I have read that their cabin was burned by soldiers because they (she and James) had trespassed on Indian territory but not that she was an Indian. I just haven't been able to find out who her parents were. If anyone can help me out here, I really would appreciate any information at all on either James or Delila. I have their children and some copies of documents and articles I have found on both of them. Gayle
