I am new to the list and would like to ask for help from anyone who might have ties to the ELDERS of Giles County, Tennesee. I have recently discovered that my grandfather was Douglas Whitfield ELDER, son of David Colston and Margaret Harwell ELDER. My grandfather changed his identity and disappeared from Giles County in 1924. I know all about his life as Frank Douglas Fisher, but would really like to know why Douglas Whitfield ELDER changed his identity and disappeared from Giles County. Can anyone help? Thank you.
