    1. [TNGILES-L] George W Sellers
    2. William C Trott
    3. My George W SELLERS (how many were there?) as noted in Giles County TN probate records of 1846: he died at his residence about 1842 or 1843 leaving widow Eliza (CHILDRESS), and children Demarcus L, Frances L, Mary E, America and Henry O. Other records show he was born July 4, 1799. A letter written to me by a distant cousin in 1980 states: "I know the names of our Sellers ancestors back to my great great grandparents, Henry Sellers and his wife, Elizabeth Hinkle Sellers. I don't have the date of Henry's birth. The Family Bible record just says he was born in Pennsylvania and died in Columbus, Ohio in 1831. He married Elizabeth Hinkle who was born in Holland -- I don't have her birth date either -- and came to Virginia when she was four four years old. She also died in Columbus, Ohio. They had 10 or 12 children but I don't have the birth and death dates of any of them except George W Sellers who was my great grandfather. They are all in the family Bible record back home in Tennessee." "George W Sellers was born in Emmitsburg, Maryland on July 4,1799. His family lived in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia awhile and left there in 1828 to to to Columbus, Ohio. I don't believe George W went to Columbus with them because he came to Tennessee and married Eliza Childress about 1824. He was a carpenter and helped to build the Childress home which is still standing (this was in 1980 and since has burned I was told. BT) in Lincoln County, Tennessee between Pulaski and Fayetteville. They were a wealthy family who thought Eliza disgraced herself when she married a man that had to work for a living. George W bought the farm where I grew up and is buried in a field there under an old box tomb. He was born July 4, 1799 and died May 30, 1842. Eliza Childress Sellers was born March 17, 1809 in a stable in Franklin while her family were on their way from North Carolina to their Tennessee home. She died April 17, 1893." Can anyone expand on this information? And does anyone in Giles County know of the whereabouts of this bible? Bil Trott
