The Southern Regional Archive in Atlanta covers all the southern region states and they have the WWI draft registration cards on file for all those states by county, so if you are searching for info on an ancestor born around 1880 (ages I looked at varied 22-37 years old in 1917-1918 for the county of Dale, AL.) Then you can write that county's Court of Ordinary and request their discharge records. Or order the LDS microfilm "Military Discharges of WWI" for the county you ancestor filed in.
