Plans to print a new heritage book have brought a tremendous response from Giles and surrounding counties, such as Lincoln, Lawrence, Marshall, and Maury counties in Tennessee, and Limestone and Madison counties in Alabama. Moreover, people with ties to Giles County but living far off are beginning to express interest, and the excitement only continues to grow! Imogean McDonald, Gladys Shannon, Christine Smith, Sara White, and Cathy Wood were elected Co-Chairs of the Book Committee, and Linda Watson was appointed as Treasurer. Jim Zielinski is publicist. This is truly an area-wide effort! Work has already begun on the new County book, which will be published in late 2005 or early 2006. Each family household with connection to Giles County is invited to submit a 500-word story and one picture to be published in the book free of charge. Churches, clubs, and organizations are encouraged to submit a 250-word story and picture for free publication. Also planned is a section on places and events of historical importance in Giles County. If you would like to be included in the book, write the Book Committee at P.O. Box 1221, Pulaski, TN 37478 or call (256) 420-3985; (931) 427-3622; or (931) 363-2906. Book Committee meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month; the next meeting of the Committee will be: Tuesday, 1 February 2005 6:30 p.m. The Comfort Inn 1140 West College Street Pulaski, Tennessee All interested persons are welcome to attend!
