Walker & als JOHN A PEDEN John A. & Griffith S. Walker of Giles Co vs JOHN A. PEDEN of Arkansas. The complainants represented that about Jan 1, 1875, they purchased of defendant JOHN A. PEDEN, a Steam and SAW Mill which was located near Prospect, Giles Co TN, at the price of $2000.00 for which two notes were executed. There is no decree in this case only a Demurer of Roseneau & Loveman. File Box W-19, Case 1809 Will of James Armstrong, 1893. This is a lengthy will. Three fourths of the way down; The heirs of James Armstrong suing for their share of his estate. In the depositions of James Brasher given Aug 26, 1872, at the age of 71 years, in Crittenden Co KY, he testified he knew James Armstrong in SC in 1812, that they moved from SC to Caldwell Co KY and that James Armstrong was his mother's brother. When the land was sold by the Clerk and Master on Nov 2, 1865, THOMAS J. PEDEN became the purchaser of the James Armstrong tract of 162 acres. This deed is registered in Deed Book EE , page 131, Angenol Cox, Clerk and Master, to THOMAS J. PEDEN. This land lay on Haywood Creek. There is and old, old deed in this Case, dated 1820, Nov 21 between William & Egbert Sheperd to James Armstrong. This is a wonderful genealogy of the Armstrong family. There are depositions that tell about the family and who the children married.
