I am related through Susan (Roberts) Baucom. Her grandparents, Zephaniah Cunningham Roberts, b. 1803, SC, d. 1869, Bedford Co., TN, and Elizabeth Rebecca (Smith), (married 1824) were my 5x great grandparents. Their son, William Riley Roberts, b. 1833, d. 1901, married (1852) Eliza Jane Keller, b. 1833, d. 1894. Their daughter, Nancy Telitha Roberts, b. 1865, d. 1953, married (1881) John Thomas Norton, b. 1857, d. 1940. Among their children was my great-grandmother, Minnie Norton, b. 1884, d. 1919, who married (prob. Aug., 1901) John Thomas Foster, b. 1879, d. 1931. I had the two other children of William Thomas Baucom and Mary C. Garrett who had married into the Roberts family, and had Mary C. as a sister of Frances Caroline, but I did not have William Jesse Baucom (b. 1885)as another of Wm. Thomas and Mary C. Baucom's sons; thanks for that. My records show that Susan R. Roberts, b. Jun, 1885, was a daughter of Zephaniah Cunningham, b. 1844, d. 1891, and Eliza E. (Smith) Roberts (married 1871). He was a son of Zephaniah, b. 1803 in SC. My source for this information is Coffee Co. Archives Chancery Court Loose Papers file#1350, in which the children of Zephaniah C. Roberts, b. 1844, are named, as are their spouses. John S. Roberts, b. 1836, d. 1926, was an older brother of Zephaniah C. Roberts, b. 1844. John S. Roberts married (1st) Sarah E. Throneberry; they had 6 children. She died before 1888. John S. married (2nd) Susan F. Hale, before Dec., 1888. John S. both wives, and many other Roberts kin are buried in the old Roberts-Green Cemetery off Green Cemetery Road just across the Coffee Co. line into Bedford Co., TN. I do not have death/burial data for William Jesse and Susan (Roberts) Baucom. Sources for dates are various: Court records, Bible records, census, and Cemetery/Tombstone records, and much of the research is my own. Do you know Marty Hiter? She is a Garrett descendant and has done some work on Frances C. and her family. Marty is a cousin through my dad's Keelings. If you do not know here, I am sure she would be a great source for Garrett information, and that she would be glad to talk to you. Hope this has been so help!
