Dorcus Stephenson b. 1790- ? married John Barron 1782-c.1819 and went to Giles County,TN. before 1820 Robert Stephenson(b. 1793- ? to Giles County,TN.,brother to Samuel Stephenson b. 1795 in York County. 1850 Census of Giles Samuel Stephenson 53 b. S.C. Mary(Shields) 53 b. S.C. George Alexander 26 b. Al. married Elizabeth Sarah Perry in Giles Co. in 1849 Mary 18 b. Al. m. ? died ? John 16 b. Al. m. ? died ? Sylvester Brown 13 b. Al. m. Mary Holt of Giles County,TN. Also interested in Laura Ann locke, who married James J. Rambo b. 1847 in Giles County,TN. Laura Ann Locke was mentioned in the diary of the Rev. James C. Elliott who married many people in Giles Co.,TN. Laura Ann Locke was mentioned in the diary along with Stephensons, Rambos, and an Elizabeth Moore, who married a Newton Stephenson in Limestone in 1837 and later married John F. Moore. Eizabeth was an Elliott before she married. Laura Ann and the Elliotts were living in Limestone County,Al. when Rev. Elliott wrote his diary. Also interested in a Robert Stephenson b. 1824, who may have been a son of Samuel above. He had a daughter who married a William COLE in Madison County,Al. I don't know if the following SMITHS were from Giles,but my Sylvester Brown Stephenson had a daughter who married a W.H. Smith. W.H. Smith was living in Waxahachie,TX. in 1908. My Samuel Stephenson,grandson of Samuel Stephenson above, married Betty Smith,daughter of James Smith b. 1836 in Al. and both his parents were from VA.
