I am trying to locate information on the brothers/sisters of my Grandmother - Louisa Price HORN(E) Scott. There were eight children including her. Any help will be deeply appreciated. Father: William R. HORN, b. 17 Dec 1818 in KY, d. 8 Apr 1873. He married Malinda C. STRAWN 16 Aug 1840 in Campbellsville, Giles County, TN. She was b. 12 Mar 1820 in TN., d, 30 Nov 1896, TN. Note: Have court records from a hearing for monies from the estate of her mother, Malinda C. STRAWN Horn. Much of the information below on her brothers/sisters came from the dispositions taken from 1896 through 1899. Records were handwritten. When transcribed, it is over 50 pages long typed single space on legal size paper. These records have name as HORNE. Pages from bible I have of Louisa's has HORN. Children: l. Robert Seaborn HORN, b.2 Aug 1841 Missouri, d. ca 1892 believe he is buried in TX. Dispositions have Robert as deceased and listed three minor children living in Texas. It does not say when or where Robert died or where the children were in Texas. Want very much to find where in Texas. Children: (1) Sallie HORN (disposition of Mary Reynolds-mentions Sallie as deceased in Texas). Have letter dated 29 Jun 1891 from an attorney to a Sallie H?kill. Can't read last name and not sure if same person. In it she is described as over 21 years of age. (2) Willis HORN (3) Wessie HORN (4) Katie HORN Last three children are represented in case as minors under age 21. Note: Also have Civil War records for Robert and a letter he wrote during the Civil War from Rock Island, Ill. prison to his father. 2. Sarah (Sallie) Ann HORN, b. 17 Dec 1845 in Missouri, d. ca 1929 (see below), TN. Sarah married James A. ARTHUR. Sallie living in Giles County, TN at time of disposition. I am trying to find the rest of an article I found in my Dad's things. There is no name or date. It's has "in memory of Mrs. Sarah Auther" (correct spelling is Arthur). He only had the middle portion of the page. The top of the page is missing. I can tell she died July 6 and from other death notices also on the page it appears to be 1929. It was a nice long write-up and I wish I could find the whole thing. The part that is missing would have had the names of living relatives. The paper appears to be of a better quality than your ordinary newspaper. I think it might be from a Cumberland Church news letter because all other obits mention Cumberland Presbyterian Churches. Other obits were for Ben J. Story, Thomas Foster Mires-Old Suggs Creek church, part of one for Mrs. J. L. Bone-Bethany, ILL, and part of one for Mrs. E. P. Earhart, SR. died in Lubbock, TX. The latest date of death was July 31, 1929 so the paper would have been published after that date. There is an ad at the bottom of the page that has "Attend Toler's Business College, Claude C. Toler, President, A School of Efficiency, Endorsed by Chamber of Commerce, Paris, Tennessee, Write for Definite Facts." 3. Maria (Mary) Jane HORN, b. 7 Feb 1846 TN, d. 4 Nov 1900. She married B. F. REYNOLDS. Mary was living in Giles County, TN at time of disposition. 4. Malinda Isabelle (Bell) HORN, b. 7 Feb 1849. She married J. P. (Brown) FARLEY. Bell was living in Giles County, TN (3 miles above Campbellsville)and Brown Farley as deceased in the dispositions. Children: (1) Katie FARLEY 5. William P. HORN, b. 17 Jul 1852 TN, d. 13 Jun 1858. 6. James M. HORN, b. 9 (or 2) Oct 1854, d. 20 Jun 1858. 7. David L. HORN, 2 May 1858, d. after 1873. 8. Louisa Price HORN, b. 26 Jun 1861 Campbellsville, Giles County, TN, d. 21 Mar 1939 San Antonio, Bexar County, TX. She married George Wyat SCOTT on 27 May 1880 at Campbellsville, Gilles County, TN. George was b. 2 Mar 1862, Scotts Mill, Maury County, TN, d. 30 Dec 1937 San Antonio, Bexar County, TX. (my grandparents) Children: (1) William David SCOTT, b. 7 Nov 1881 (2) Mary Elizabeth Scott, b. 23 Sept 1883 (3) Vannie Franklin SCOTT, b. 5 Oct 1886 (4) Lucile SCOTT, b. 11 Jul 1889 (5) Sally Etta Kate SCOTT, b. 14 Mar 1894 (6) Atwell Howard SCOTT, b. 27 Nov 1901 (my father) Dispositions have Mary Reynolds, Sallie Arthur and Bell Farley all living in Giles County, TN.
