November 11 [TNGILES] Query-Slaton/Smith marriage 1870 Hello fellow subscribers, I am always reminded of how things repeat themselves and going in 'circles'. My wife's ancestors are from Giles Co. Then I find myself looking at my ancestors and guess where some of them were from! We are from two different parts of the country and yet are we really that far apart? So anyway I'm working for her right now, on her preparations for Family 130th Anniversary in Washington in 2006. My quest is to locate documentation of a marriage between a C. Anderson Slaton and a Elizabeth "Bettie" Smith, 11-27-1870, Giles Co. They had a son Robert and then daughter Eva May (2-07-1874 and informant for her D.C. says Birth Place was National, TN), then daughter Minitie(sp?) in 1876. My question was there a place known as 'National' or did someone 'not hear' Nashville? I always enjoy getting E-mail from Giles site, someday will find that 'connection' we have been looking for on my wife's ancestors! You have a nice day. Bob Rankin, Oregon
