I am hoping that some new researcher will read this and be connected to my branch of Dungys of Giles Co., TN. Abner Dungy and his line is well documented, although a man that I believe to be his brother, Charles Dungy, formerly of Cocke Co., TN is not. Charles left Giles by 1860 for Southern Illinois, specifically, West Marion Twp., Williamson Co., IL. I am certain that he lived in Giles before relocating to Southern IL although he is not in the 1850 Census that I can find. His children married in Giles and Limestone Co., AL (next door) and then the clan moved on. Connected lines of the area that married Charles' children and went on to Southern IL are: Arnett, Elliott, Brock (connected while in Giles), Breeden-not sure if the daughter married him in Giles/Limestone or in Southern IL, Maherg, and Schogins (?).
