The Lure and Lore of Limestone Co AL by Chris Edwards and Faye Axford published by Limestone Co Historical Society, 1978, page 78 Joseph Henderson and Della Elizabeth [Legg] Bullington probably moved into this house [ this is following a story about the Bullington home in Limestone Co AL] after their marriage on Dec 15, 1895. Joseph's mother, Nancy Lydia [Halbert] Bullington, died on Jan. 18, 1898, and Joseph's younger brothers and sisters lived with the newlyweds. Joseph Henderson was descended from Henderson A. Bullington [Dec 1, 1809- Oct 17, 1860] who came from Virginia around 1835 with at least one brother, Luke G. There is a Nealy Bullington listed in the 1850 census, who may also have been a brother? Henderson A. Bullington md Elizabeth Ann Sanderson [Dec 1, 1815- Oct 31, ---] on Jan 12, 1836. She was a daughter of Morris Sanderson [ Sept 9, 1788- Oct 30, 1844] and Hannah [Strange] Sanderson. They were the parents of; 1. Casteria [1836-?] md Isaac Jasper Hall on Jan 27, 1861 2. Mary C. [1838-?] md Willis White ** 3. Martha J. [ 1840-?] md Jack Roberts 4. Robert M. [1843-?] md first Elizabeth White, md 2nd ?, md 3rd Mrs. Ida Grisham. ** 5. John Douglas [ Feb 5, 1845- Feb 10, 1899] md Nancy Lydia Halbert [ Oct 11, 1854- Jan 18, 1898], by whom he had 13 children. He then married Elizabeth Taylor. By Nancy he had: 1. Joseph Henderson [Aug 22, 1871- July 10, 1944 md Della Elizabeth Legg, dau of Joel E. on Dec 15, 1895. *** 2. Misc info: John Pharis Brackeen was the 4th child of George Samuel Houston Brackeen [ April 23, 1845- July 24, 1921] md Martha Tabitha Barker [Nov 1, 1848- Feb 17, 1903] who were married on Mar 13, 1871. Their children included; George H. Brackeen [ July 11, 1872- July 4, 1956] who married Sally Tucker and had among other children; Aaron A. Brackeen, Mayor of Elkmont. And William Richard Brackeen [ Jan 10, 1883-?] md Mary Elizabeth Eastep, and among their children was Louis Otto md Lilla Elizabeth Bullington. All of above happened in Limestone Co AL. **** Estate Settlements of Giles Co TN by Elizabeth W. White, page 70 File Box XVIII Filed 1892 J. M. White [James Monroe White] of Giles Co TN vs T.B. White [Thomas Bailey White], J.G. Watson and wife Caledonia, citizens of the State of Texas.; R. M. Bullington and wife Elizabeth; and John White, citizens of the State of Alabama; Robert Bullington and wife Charlotte, Clark [Babe] and George White citizens of Giles Co TN; Cheatham White [ Son of William K. White] a minor of the State of Texas; and unknown heirs of Lafayette White residence unknown. Complainant J. M. White stated his father, W. Clark White died, intestate, at his residence in Giles Co in the year 1864. He left surviving his widow, Elizabeth , and J.M.; Lewis; T. B.; John W. [John Wesley]; Clark Jr .; and George [Washington]White, Caledonia Watson; Elizabeth Bullington; and Charlotte Bullington as his surviving children. Cheatham White son of his deceased son, W. K. White and Martha C., Willie and Crawford Fayette Whiten Jr., children of his deceased son, Lafayette White. W. Clark White was the owner of considerable real estate at the time of his death and of the real estate, 110 acres were set apart to his widow, Elizabeth [Elizabeth K. Wilkerson], as Homestead and Dower. Elizabeth White died May 10, 1894. Complainant J.M. White stated to the court that the Dower had not been divided and he in fact was owner of of nine elevenths shares. He had purchased eight shares from the other heirs and he owning one share by virtue of being an heir. The two shares he did not own were the shares of William K. White, a brother who died in the year 1876 leaving Cheatham his only heir and the share of Lafayette White. The tract of 110 acres lay in the third Civil District. Complainant asking County Court to declare a sale of land of which he was due nine elevenths. The tract was sold Friday, Aug 11, 1894.
