I had my doubts about this story until I read the biography of Milton K. Alexander at the Edgar Co,IL. website. His mother was a Barbara King. He lived in Elbert Co,GA.,and he married Mary Shields of Giles Co,TN. Milton K. Alexander appears on the 1820 census of Giles Co,TN.
