    3. Julie, I agree with you. This book (and others) have been discussed on this list for years, with no complaints by anyone that I can recall. Imogean was not soliciting sales, and also, she was trying to send her email to the Message Board. The Message Board is linked to this list. Would the List Administrator please speak to this? I don't believe Aaron is the admin for this list. I've always enjoyed the notification of Giles county books of interest on this list. Found in 1880 Limestone Co, AL census listed as Land and Jane with son George age 2. 1910 Census shows Kitty a widow in Ellis Co, Texas. She remained there until her passing in 1946. 1870 Giles Co, TN Census shows Jane (Kitty Jane) with her siblings being cared for by a mulatto family Thomas Dismukes, wife Jane, son William (HH 134), but no parents (HH 135), Robert b.1857 NC, Jane b.1859 NC, Henry b.1863 NC, William b. 1867 NC, Samuel b.1868 NC. I have info on Robert W., Kitty Jane, Samuel( who appears to be my ggpa Thomas Barrett), James H, and Willis Field/Filmore. Still looking for any info on William and Henry. Robert married 1880 in Limestone Co, AL to Carrie Peace. Youngest brother Willis b.1874 m.1889 in Limestone Co to Nora Harwell, Kitty married 1879 in Giles Co, and James H. b.1871 m. Anna Terry of Giles/Limestone Co, in 1901, Wise Co, TX. James Henry Moore b.1871 death cert states he was born in Marshall Co, TN. 1880 Census of this Moore family find them in Lauderdale Co, AL, with James and Willis b. after 1870 in AL. Jane is living in Limestone Co, and Henry is not in the household but could possibly be the Haywood Moore living as a hired hand nearby. A Haywood Moore married Henrietta Ada Terry in Giles Co, Oct 1880, sister to Anna Terry, and Henry Moore's are found marrying in Limestone Co, AL about this time too, so either is possible. This Moore family has not been found in the 1860 Census. It is believed they lived in Giles Co, TN about 1868 - 1871, moving to AL in 1871, found in Lauderdale Co, in 1880, moving to Limestone Co about 1880/1 and staying in the area until 1894, then migrating to Arkansas 1895-1898, then on to Fall, Wise and Ellis Co, Texas before 1900. They were very mobile and share croppers. 1. Re: [TNGILES] Edna Randolph & Rufus Glasco / Glasscock
    2. Well, I may be able to help you somewhat. I was researching a different Rufus Glasco (b. oct 1842) who married Laura Pinkleton in Giles County 24 Apr 1907, Tennessee , when I ran across the death certificate of a younger Rufus Glasco (b. 1883) who died in Giles County, Tennessee 27 Apr 1910 (#28589). The death certificate caught my attention because, the cause of death was explained thus: "drowned himself on account of Halley's comet". These early death certificates did not contain parental information, however it states that he died in the 21st District, and was 27 years old, and was born in the 21st District of Giles County, Tennessee. Out of curiousity, I kept the death certificate and discovered that Halleys Comet was reported visible in the later days of April, 1910. I find it interesting that the date of the census you have posted is the date of his death. I believe that he may be the son of Rufus Glasco and his previous wife Lucy Helton. They were married 16 Nov 1882 ! in Gile s County. They connect to a line of Pinkleton's that I am researching. My Mamie Pinkleton married Rufus' son John Wesley Glasco. I notice that this younger Rufus Glasco that you have posted named a son John W. I noticed that Rufus Glasco (b. 1842) and his son John W. lived in District 21 on the 1900 Federal census of Giles County, Tennessee. I believe that district 21 is the Pulaski area. Let me know if this helps.
