Dave: Regarding the photo of Thomas and Lela Barlar: On a recent trip to Giles County I received a xeroxed copy of a photo of Susan Phillips Barlar, grandmother of Thomas Barlar, with several of her children. The father of Thomas Barlar, Alfred Jordon Barlar, is not in the photo. The copy I received is SEVERAL COPY generations old, but I did manage to scan it. It is a poor quality photo, but you can make out most of the facial features. Also listed on this photo is the spouses of all of the children. I would be happy to provide a copy to the Giles Web Page via JPG file, or to anyone else that is interested. Joe

I am trying to find a marriage record for William Davis to Elizabeth Mattison (her last name may have been spelled differently, e.g., Matison, Madison, Matson, etc.). Hi Gang, Passing this message from Bridgett (our State Coordinator) on to you. Thought maybe someone might be interested in adopting Marshall County since it is our neighbor. Dave icq#4202467 -----Original Message----- From: Bridgett Smith <bascs@snark.wizard.com> To: TNGEN-L@rootsweb.com <TNGEN-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Thursday, June 11, 1998 12:25 AM Subject: [TNGEN-L] Orphans Well folks, we are getting close to the 100% county adoption bracket. We've been close before but not this solidly. There are, as of the time of this writing <G>, 2 counties left up for grabs. Van Buren (which was just orphaned last week) and Marshall, which has never been adopted in the close to 2 years we have been online, that I can remember. If anyone knows of someone who might want to be a host of one of those counties, send them my way. Thanks for all your efforts in this project. With the team effort that has been expended and hosts helping others out when needed we have come a long way -- we've put together one grand research area. My hat's off to all of you.
