Researching the Gayle/Gale families of TN; need to know the origin of the Giles Co. Gayle families listed in the 1830 census of Giles Co. Am descended from William H. Gayle, Cumberland Presbyterian minister in Lincoln, Franklin, and Giles Co. in the 1840s - 1860s. William Gayle was born in VA in 1800 and died in Jackson Co., AL in 1872.

I've subscribed for several months now and sent a couple of inquiries, but have never seen anything on the MINATREEs. My husband Charles Lane MINATRA was born in Giles Co. TN in 1939, son of David Winfield Minatra and Ailene Sumpter Carden. David was son of Guy Minatra and Mary Myrtle Carden who lived at Bunker Hill. Guy died in 1963, Mary in 1952. I have copies of photos of Guy and Mary with their children and with many of Guy's siblings and his parents (made in early 1900s). Ailene was daughter of John Kirk Carden and Myrtha Paysinger. Does anyone have anything that connects us to David Minetree of Williamsburg? I would looking for some history of the family in Giles County.
