Hi all. Are there any descendants of Josiah Phelps and Mary Birdwell McCormack online? I am a desc of Mary by her first marriage to John McCormack SR and am interested in developing the Phelps children's families. Josiah Phelps (c1785-c1848) married #1 Mary Foster...I know they had a bunch of children, but I seem to have lost the list of them. Josiah maried #2 Mary, widow of John McCormack, nee Birdwell, on 30 Apr 1832. They had 5 children: 1. Xantippe, born c 1833...Giles Co ref's say she married "Doc Wright" but I believe she is interred in Bee Spring Cemetery as a Loyd?? Does anyone have cemetery recs to help me comfirm this> I have about 1/2 of htem but not the pages listing Xantippe. 2. Julia A. born 28 Dec 1834 died Sept 1859 married Alex Loyd, interred in Bee Spring Cemetery 3. Thomas Hart Benton born 9 Sept 1837 died in Jones Co TX 17 May 1926, marrierd #1 Samantha Loyd in 1859 4. Napoleon Bonaparte born 26 Dec 1839 died 12 Aug 1862, it is unclear if he died single or not...early Giles Co ref's say he married a McCormack 5. Parthenia A b 29 Oct 1841 died Dec 1865...supposed to also be interred at Bee Spring...married William ColemanHuff Regina Roper

My great-great-great-grandparents were Newton "Newt" and Frances "Fannie" (Golden) Williams. They were in the area of Bradshaw, TN. Newt was 37 years old, born in Alabama, and a farmer. Frances was 41 years old, born in Alabama, and a housewife. They had one son, William Franklin Williams, age about 5, born in Tenn. They later had another son, Joe, and a daughter, Belle. The family was in Texas by 1880, however, Newt is nowhere to be found. Haven't been able to contact anyone in the family for information. I know this isn't much to go by, but it's all I know about them. Is there any family there that has a relative named Newton that fits mine's description? Thanks for responding. Hi Gang, The contributions have really been dwindling lately. It has been a long time since I have received a gen chart from anyone. I know we are all getting scanners for Christmas and then you are going to send me those old photos of great-grandad. But don't forget those old wills, deeds, etc. All of you Giles County residents. Do you have any photos of historic Giles County? I am sure you do. Send them snail-mail if you don't have a scanner. I think Giles is the best county in TN. If you have checked out some of the other counties, I am sure you will agree. And it is that way because of the many contributions I have received. I know we are all busy with the Holidays right now so I will be patient till the new year. Researching Johnathon and Susannah THOMAS in Giles Co listed in the 1850 census. Susannah's maiden name is listed as HOWELL. Their daughter, Clarissa THOMAS married Major HOWELL in January 1857, Major was the son of Daniel HOWELL and Harriet Frances THOMAS HOWELL. Also researching the HOWELLs of Giles Co. There were three brothers: Major C. (not the same as above), Jesse C. and Daniel C. HOWELL. Daniel lived in nearby Maury Co., (Southport). We believe the HOWELLs and THOMASes intermarried quite often (there may be others that we are not aware of). If anyone has any information they are willing to share, please let me know. We have some on each of the three families, but not alot. Thanks Lisa Howell ToodlesNTaz@webtv.net
