My great-grandfather, Andrew Goldman, was born in 1833 somewhere in Tennessee. We have not been able to find any information about his parents. He was living in Pontotoc County, MS in 1850. His sister, Louisa, was living there also with a Clary Hubbard. Clary Hubbard was the widow of Demsey Hubbard and we know that the Hubbards were in Giles County in 1830. The Hubbards were too old to be Andrew and Louisa's parents. We are guessing that they are grandparents but we can't find a marriage record for any Hubbards and Goldmans. All we know is that we have some connection to Demsey and Clary and that there were Goldmans and Hubbards in Giles County between approximately 1825 and 1838 when they moved to Mississippi. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Audrey Goldman O'Connor
Hello....I would also like to know how to contact them. I looking for any information on the following: James M. D.(O?) Bellew and wife Nancy Ann, living in Giles County in 1870... (William) Carrol Johns and wife Lucy A. Bellew Johns - Carrol Johns served in Co. K 3rd Reg't Tenn. Cavalry Vol, enrolled 1 Feb 1864 and was mustered out Aug 3, 1865 with his company. Carrol "was shot while attempting to arrest a lawless character who had attempted to kill a Union soldier on the 16th day of July 1866." This according to application for Widow's Pension by Lucy A. (H?) Rutherford/Retherford filed in Giles County on Sep 29, 1897. Claim was "Submitted for rejection on the ground of no title, as soldier's death was not due to his military service. Other points not considered." Carroll Johns is buried at the Old Deerman Chapel Cemetery, St. Clair County, AL. Lucy and Carrol Johns had a son, B. M. Johns, born Nov 27, 1866. Lucy and "Unknown" Rutherford married in 1873. Any information on the above mentioned persons will be greatly appreciated! Rilla Remlap, Alabama

Hi Folks, I just received this from our State Coordinator. Since I have numerous links scattered throught the site, something like this could happen. If you run across a link that is questionable or inappropriate, please bring it to my attention immediately. Thanx, Dave icq#4202467 -----Original Message----- From: Bridgett Smith <bascs@snark.wizard.com> To: TNGEN-L@rootsweb.com <TNGEN-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Saturday, January 30, 1999 10:55 AM Subject: [TNGEN-L] Some interesting info The below message came through the State Coordinators List. I doubt any of you link to this site, but thought I would pass this information on. It may behoove you to check out your links, I mean actually visit them, to make sure that they actually link to the sites you thought they linked to. Apparently porn sites pick up expired domain names and then use them to their advantage. Apparently several elementary school teachers in the western states, had linked up to this site, had not checked their links in sometime for content and got a very rude awakening when visiting the site.
