    3. To: POARCH-L@rootsweb.com I went to my first decoration day. The Diana Cemetery was ablaze with color. The peonies were in bloom and the many colorful flowers placed on the graves were beautiful. Got to meet and talk to some new cousins, but missed many more. Next year, think I will take my lunch, cooler with cokes, and my own shade and plan to spend the day. 3. That Long-Marbut link is interesting. John & Ann Thomas Marbut were my 4th great-grandparents, their daughter Eodus Everline ("Oda") Marbut was my third great-grandmother. Oda married my 3rd great-grandfather, Peterson McGill, sometime around 1850. Oda, who along with Peterson are mentioned in the minutes of the Puncheon Camp Baptist Church of Christ, died around 1870, after which time Peterson married his third wife, Sarah Sherrod. Interestingly, Peterson's first wife, who we believe died in childbirth in 1849, was Mahala LONG! I don't know what connection if any exists between Mahala and the other Giles Co. LONGS. If anyone does know, please let us know. Jim Davis On Sat, 22 May 1999, Minnie HILLIS REAGOR wrote: > He is probably connected to Washington Alfred LONG & Patsy Martha > MARBUT. 1. [TNGILES-L] Long, Randolph, Johnson, Stafford
    2. I thought I would try to post this again in hopes that maybe someone out there may have a few clues they could send my way. I am seeking info on Daniel Long who married Sarah J. Johnson on Oct. 15, 1882 in Giles Co. TN. I am also seeking info on the following Long's : Wesley, Ezra, Maggie, & Wiley. I have been told that these were also the brothers and sister of my grandfather Wilson Long who was born on April 5, 1892 ( on the genchart I had his birth as April 7, 1892 but found out from the cemetery in Marked Tree, Arkansas that his birth was recorded as April 5, 1892). Really I know right now is that Daniel Long and Sarah J. Johnson were the parents of Wilson Long. I do not know for certain about the other Long's I listed above. I can not seem to find out any info on Daniel Long. I do not know if he was born in TN. or not. I can not seem to find Wilson Long on the 1910 census of Giles Co. But I know he was there, somewhere. He married Emma Lee Randolph ( daughter of James Frank Randolph and Martha Stafford Randolph. I did find this Randolph family on the 1910 census of Giles Co. thanks to someone out there who gave me the info ). Emma L. Randolph and Wilson Long were married in Giles Co. on July 3, 1910. Emma had a sister named Ida B. another sister whom I can't make out on the 1910 census but the middle initial was a C. and she had a brother named Walter H. Anyone that may even think they have info on this family of Long's and Randolphs, and/ or any of the mentioned names, please, I am grasping for straws. Thank you in advance. Robbie
