    1. [TNGILES-L] Oops on the cemetery URL
    2. Dianne Vojtaskovic
    3. Hi once again, Thanks to Ric, I did make an error on the cemetery volunteer list I sent. It should be: www.geocities.com/Heartland/Bluffs/1079/rootsweb/cemetery.html Or if you want to go directly to the volunteer list and see what counties people have volunteered for, use this: www.geocities.com/Heartland/Grove/2076 Hope someone will get some use from this. It is a terrific site with lots of people willing to help. I also hope you will volunteer in your area, too. Have fun, Dianne

    1. [TNGILES-L] Glasco
    2. Tommy Stephenson
    3. Seeking information on Susan Glasco. In 1860, George Stephenson was living in Giles County,TN. with wife, Elizabeth Sarah Perry, born South Carolina in 1827. George and Elizabeth Perry married in Giles in 1849. Susan was living with George Stephenson in 1870 in Madison County,Al. She was listed as "Delilah" in 1870,and in 1880, Susan was living with the Stephenson family in Limestone County,Al. In 1900 "aunt" Susan Glasco b.1838 was living in the home of Elizabeth Stephenson Ratliff, daughter of George Alexander Stephenson, in Delta County,TX. I believe Susan Glasco to be sister to Elizabeth Perry since both were born in S.C. and both of their parents were from that state. Susan Glasco's husband was Lieutenant John Glasco. He may have enlisted in TN. because Susan and he had a daughter Mary born in TN. in 1861. Lieutenant John Glasco came home from the Civil War sick and soon died. 1850 Giles Samuel Stephenson,53,York County,South Carolina Mary Shields Stephenson,53,S.C. Mary ,18,Limestone County,Al. 1. [TNGILES-L] Dyer family
    2. There were Dyers in Marshall or Lincoln Counties in late 1800s and on into l900s. My father had an uncle, John Pigg, who married two Dyer sisters. One died and he then married the other. I believe there is a little bit of info in the Biography section of Goodspeed's Lincoln County under John Pigg. That might be a slim lead for the person who is looking for Dyer info. 2. Dorris Chapel Church of Christ
    3. Hi all, The following districts are in the process of either being transcribed or proofread. They are: District 4, 5, and the City of Pulaski. We are in need of proofreaders or transcribers. If you would like to help, please e-mail me privately and let me know which you would like to do and what type of word processor you are using. I want to give David Worsham a great big "THANK YOU" for the great job he is doing with the Giles Website and also a great big "THANK YOU" for transcribing the City of Pulaski District. Also, if you have tried to contact me in the last couple of months, I evidently have been having problems with my mail server. Several people have told me that they have e-mailed me and I never got the e-mails. Thanks in advance for any help that you might give to me. Jennifer Fuqua

    1. [TNGILES-L] Dyers in Giles Co.?
    2. Cynthia E. Chandler
    3. My great-grandpa, George A. Dyer, was born in Giles Co 2/8/1870 to Solomon Dyer and Nancy Taylor. There other children are Mary Ann, Nathan, Henry, and Indy Dyer. Since George is listed last in my info, I believe him to be the youngest child. Solomon and Nancy were born in TN. This is all the information I have regarding my long lost Dyer clan. I also know they were people of very modest income. If anyone can shed light on my Dyers, please shine the light so they can find their way home. With much appreciation. 1. [TNGILES-L] CCC - WPA in Giles County
    2. David Worsham
    3. Hi Folks, There has been some discussion on the CCC on the tngen mail list. And I was wondering if any of you have any interesting stories about yourselves, your fathers, grandfathers, who might have worked on the CCC/WPA projects from Giles County. I know my father was in the CCC here in CA and has shared his stories with me about the CCC and the Great Depression. And my grandfather worked on WPA projects. If you have any items of interest, stories, projects, photos, etc send them along and I can start a new section on the Giles page. Dave
