    1. [TNGILES-L] WORLEY family
    2. Vanessa Winans
    3. Hello. I've just joined the list, and want to tell which families I'm researching in Giles County. My ancestors there include Riley WORLEY (c. 1822 to c.1858), son of Gabriel Worley (1786-1860), who lived in the Frankeweing area. Riley married (I believe) Louisa TRIMBLE in 1844, next door in Lincoln County. I'm trying to track down anything I can on the Worley clan. In fact, I'll be traveling to Giles County in a couple of weeks for a research trip. earch trip.

    2. Debra McCann
    3. James, I a descendant of James H. Taylor born in 1817 in TN. He married Lucy Ann Phillips born in 1818 in VA. They were married in Giles Co., in 1834 and had the following children: Olivia A., David, Robert, Mary E., Eliza J., John J. and Zachary. They were living in Giles Co. TN in the 1850 Census, but by 1860 they had left, and they don't show up again until the 1870 Census in Henry Co. TN. Then my search led me to Massac Co., IL, because one of the sons John J. Taylor married David F. Walker and Lucinda Pruitt's daughter Indiana there in 1879. Their marriage certificate says that John was from Johnson Co. IL. I noticed that several Taylor families lived nearby the Walker's, in Massac Co., IL. There was also a William H. Walker living nearby, probably David's brother. I an trying to figure out if my Taylors and Walkers are related to the ones in Massac Co. and Johnson Co., or the ones in Giles Co., TN., or both. Debra James H. 2. Kay Sauls
    3. I thank each and everyone who responded to my query, My wife and I were just in Giles Co. the first of this month and we went down dog branch road, but could not find the Church or Cemetery is the church still standing or did we not go down the road far enough according to an old map 1878 that I got at the Library in Pulazki I had went to the old Ashford place next to a creek that the road crosses there were some old out buildings on the left side of the road and an old barn on the right side of the road. According to the map the Pyle family lived in this area at least a John W Pyle did, his brother and sister in law Henry Pyle and Maggie Pyle are buried in the Breech Grove Cemetery, The reason I am looking for this cemetery I cannot find where some of the other Pyle family is buried in Giles Co. I feel like they might be buried in this cemetery but that you can't read the markers. Most of the Pyle's were associated with the Ashfords in Giles Co. and were intermarried moved from NC together and lived next door to one another, since there is Ashford family buried in the Beech Grove Cemetery I assume that maybe my Pyle family is also. does anyone have any suggestions. Thank you so much for your help Robert Sauls

    1. [TNGILES-L] More Randolph Info
    2. A very nice lady had sent me some info on a family of Randolph's, I checked the IGI, here is what I found : Carson Randolph born 1828 in Alabama was the son of James L. Randolph and Abigail Randolph. Carson married Aley M. Turner, Nov of 1949 in Giles Co. They had 6 children: Caoline Madora born abt. 1851, Giles Co. Mary Adaline born abt. 1853, Giles Co. Josephine born abt 1855, Giles Co. James Franklin born abt. 1857, Giles Co. Ann Eliza born abt. 1859, Giles Co. Cornelia born abt. 1863, Giles Co. * James F. Randolph married Martha A. Stafford on March 12, 1891 in Giles Co. Believing that this James Franklin Randolph and James F. Randolph is the same person, and my great grandfather, must have been married at least once before, because now a son named Samuel Randolph pops up and is listed as being born in 1879 in Giles Co. A daughter named Mary Jo pops up and is listed as being born in 1886 in Giles Co. and a daughter named Nancie pops up and is listed as being born in 1889 in Giles Co. ( Nancie was found on the 1910 census of Giles Co. listed as age 21 living in household with her parents Frank Randolph & Martha, along with 2 sisters, Emma L. ( my grandmother ) and Ida Belle, and a brother named Walter H. who was 14 years of age at the time ). Now that it seems as if i have gotten over one of my many brick walls, does anyone out there know of this family ? Many thanks in advance, any & all info deeply appreciated. Robbie

Can anyone tell me the whereabouts of Beech grove Cemetery in Giles County and its status is it kept or is it abandoned, I believe that some of my Pyle family is buried there. I know that Henry and Maggie Pyle are buried there based on the cemetery records in the Library in Pulazki and I was wondering if anyone knows about the condition of the Cemetery.
