    3. I am searching for information on Elizabeth Sarah Perry who married George Alexander Stephenson in Giles in 1849. All I know about her origins is that she was one of four daughters of a preacher from SC. The 1850 Census lists: William Perry,55,SC. Elizabeth ,55,SC. Nancy ,20,SC. Josuha ,18,SC. Susannah ,15,SC. Luann ,9, SC. Could someone check for me and see if William Perry is on the 1860 census? The effort would be greatly appreciated.

    2. I would like to add my two bits into the TUCKER area. I am seeking info on a Martha TUCKER, reportedly dau of Levi TUCKER. Levi may have been from N. Carolina. She was born abt 1842 prob in Giles Co. She had a son she named John Franklin TUCKER who was born 1865. Does anyone have any knowledge of this child and who his father was? Martha later married a John SWEENEY, but he is not thought to be the father of John. Martha is buried at Mt.Zion across the line in Lawrence Co. Does anyone know anything about a John Franklin BLACK (1847-1894)? There is notion that he may have been John's father.... Any help on this is most appreciated! 1. [TNGILES-L] Sam DUNN
    2. Terry
    3. I just joined this list, I have been on a few others, only to find out that I was in the wrong counties. I'm looking for the marriage of my greatgrandparents Sam DUNN and Mary Elizabeth LECROY,also the death notice or burial of my greatgrandfather and a great uncle who would of been a child, my grandfather was born in Pulaski on Jan 25, 1881, his name was William L. DUNN, my greatgrandfather was killed in a fight around 1881 or 1882, the child was hit in the knee with a stray bullet and died a few weeks later of gangreen, this child might of been around 6 yrs. My grandmother is listed on the 1870 census for Bedford Co living with her parents, then in 1880 her family is listed living in Madison Co AL and she is not with them, so I take it she is living in Giles Co. and married to Sam DUNN. Thanking you in advance for any info. Terry Hinchcliff

    3. I see the name Tucker appearing a lot now. I am trying to find James "Jim" Tucker who married my great grand mother Sarah Ida Smith in Lewis Co. Tn. December 22, 1914. This was her second marriage. She was the widow of Thomas Newton Smith who died in 1912. Ida and Jim migrated to Ms. about 1928. I would like to obtain his birth date and who his parents were and where he was born. Jim disappeared after moving to Ms. I cannot get a lead on him. The family tells me he went off some where and never returned. Could he have had children in Tn. and returned there? He was very mean to my grand parents and siblings and most likely my grand mother told him to leave.

    3. Regarding the previous post concerning the Tucker, Barnes, Brownlow families...... I am a researcher of the Warren family of Giles Co. and have information on the Mace Tucker who is buried in Bee Springs Cemetery. This particular Mace Tucker was married to Mary Alice Warren b. 1872--d. 1939 (buried beside of Mace Tucker). Mary Alice Warren's parents were James Alexander "Jim" Warren and Mary Elizabeth "Molly" Dale (also buried in Bee Springs). As far as I can establish, none of Mace and Mary Alice's children were named Mace thus there is probably not a connection between the widow mentioned in the Chancery Court document and the Mace Tucker buried in Bee Springs. Also, I have no evidence of any relations between the Warren and Barnes or Brownlow families. William T. Warren

    3. Who is Mrs. Mace Tucker, a widow, mentioned in Chancery Court File Box K-3, Case 5462, J. W. Kennedy et al vs. G. W. Brownlow et al? Is she the daughter of Celia Ann Brownlow and Newton D. Barnes? Is Mace her given name or her husband's? In 1906 she was living in Texas along with G. W. Bennett, Bud Barnes, Unknown Shearer and wife Ella, Thomas Barnes, Maggie Barnes and John Barnes. There is a Mace Tucker 1871-1939 listed in the Bee Spring Cemetery, page 21, Cemetery Records of Giles County. 3. Hi Cliff, Could be both. Sometimes the files get too large and it takes too long to load on slower PCs. If that be the case, I can break up the file to help the loading speed. It could also be I screwed up and didn't get the file loaded correctly after the last update. Either way, give me some specifics as to where you are looking and I can investigate. 3. Looking for the parents of Joseph Bennett b. 1816 in giles Co, Tn. He had a sister Minerva Bennett b 1813 and Malinda Bennett b??, and two brothers Thomas b? 1809 and Jacob b??. The only information we have is on Joseph (our line) and Minerva Bennett. And family records state that they came from Giles Co, Tn, but FROM where we dont know? It is possible that their father was a BENJAMIN BENNETT. The family moved to Wayne Co, Ms before 1820 and their is a Benj listed there with the correct number of children. This is all I have to go on at the present time. What type of records could I find back that far? in Giles Co, Tn?? Does anyone have a Bennett family listed in that time frame?? Thanks for any help Phyllis Blount

    3. Hi, group. If anyone has access to the 1860 Census, Giles County, Northern Subdivision, I would certainly appreciate a lookup for William R. Grigsby and his family. I took what I could from the Broderbund CD 316 but this doesn't show anything other than the name. I need the ages and birthplaces also. The CD says they are on page 06 but I don't much trust that. Hoping someone has this census, Ginny
