Help , I know that I am getting old but could someone help me read what is on the 1910 Census images, I have found Henry G. Piles and his wife Maggie in the 1910 census on Dog Branch Road in Giles County what I haven't been able to do is make out who their children are, according to what I can see on these images list daughter, granddaughter , grandson and son in law. It is located in district 3 enumeration district 17 page 8 if I have read this correctly. If any one can read this I would be most thankful. Robert

I am looking for information on my great grandparents and their ancestors. I believe the following is correct for Richard and Matilda: Richard was born 2/3/1820 in TN and died 7/8/1906 in Giles County. Matilda was born 9/7/1821 in TN and died 4/13/1903 in Giles County. Any further information would be appreciated. j.woodruff@mindspring.com
Judith As far as I can find, John had only two children, Joseph Harrison and Margaret. I have no idea who John's parents were. Only know they were born in Virginia. Thanks, Glenda ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

I asked earlier about a Limestone County look-up and some people were nice enough to e-mail me with the results. I appreciate it. Unfortunately, we struck out. Now I'd like to ask someone to look for the marriage record in Giles County. The bride was Susan Chapman and the groom was a Mr. York. The marriage would have been in the early 1860s. Also, please look for a marriage of Susan York to a Harvey Shelton in the early 1870s---either in Giles or Limestone. Thanks very much, Mike Chapman
Has anyone got a marriage book for neighboring Limestone County, Alabama? I need a look-up concerning a Susan Chapman marrying a Mr. York in the early 1860s. I need Mr. York's first name and the date of the marriage. Thank you, Mike Chapman

Subject: Windows 95 & 98 Y2K Computer tip You may think your PC is "Y2K" compliant and some little tests may have actually affirmed that your hardware is compliant, but you'll be surprised that Windows may still crash unless you do the simple exercise below. Easy fix, but something Microsoft seems to have missed in certifying their software as Y2K compliant. This is simple to do, and VERY important. Click "START" Click on "SETTINGS" Double click on "CONTROL PANEL" Double click on "Regional settings icon (look for the little world globe) Click on the "Date" tab at the top of the page (last tab on the top right) Where it says "Short Date Sample" look and see if it shows a two digit year format: "YY" Unless you have previously changed it will be set incorrectly with just 2 Y's. It NEEDS to be 4 Y's. That's because Microsoft made the 2 digits setting the Default setting for Windows 95 and Windows 98. This date format selected is the date that Windows feeds ALL application software and will not rollover into the year 2000. It will roll over into the year "00" Click on the little arrow button in the window across from "Short Date Style" and select the option that shows "mm/DD/yyyy" or "m/d/yyyy". Be sure your selection has four Y's and not just mm/DD/yy. Then click "Apply" Then click "OK" at the bottom. Pass this info on to your PC buddies. No matter how much of a computer guru they think they are this might be a welcome bit of information! ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

Greetings and Happy Holidays! I started looking through the 1880 census images on the net last night. That is a tremendous accomplishment and I tip my hat to all who were involved. I do have a question about it though, is there an index available that might list page numbers for names? My gggrandpa went AWOL from Lauderdale county, and apparently Alabama as well for about 10 years. I started through the Giles Co. images last eve, but rapidly decided "there has to be a better way". His name is James I McClure, his wife is Sarah (Sallie). -- Till next time........ m0-0m ~
