    2. Tommy Stephenson
    3. Pat, I don't know about James Stephenson from Livingston County,Ky,but the grandfather of my Samuel Stephenson b. 1795 was John Stephenson of Bullocks Creek(ca.1724-1773 and wife Jane(ca.1732-1795) children: John Stephenson ca 1750 Mary 1752 married Daniel McClaren Agnes 1755 Robert 1757 married Jane Barron,3 Dec. 1784;d. 1798 Margaret 24 Dec.1760 married David Dickey(1747-1823)R.S. David Dickey and his wife Margaret Stephenson migrated to Livingston County,Ky. In a book called "History of The Ohio Falls Cites and Their Counties," published in 1882 is the biography of the Rev. John McElroy Dickey who was born in York County,S.C. Dec. 16,1789. His grandfather,of Scotch-Irish descent, came from Ireland to America in the year 1737. His father,David Dickey, was twice married, first on March 28,1775 to Margaret Robeson, who died four months after the marriage;afterwards to Margaret Stephenson,Sept. 4, 1788. p. 518. David Dickey, though reared in a slave state, looked upon slavery as a curse, and sought to deliver his family from its influence, but he found himself obliged by circumstances to remain in Livingston county,Kentucky. John Dickey went to study under the direction of his cousin, the Rev. William Dickey, who lived about one mile from his home. Since my George Alexander Stephenson was born 1822 in Limestone County,Al., I am interested in a James H. Stephenson who married a Martha Montgomery in that county in 1857. I was sent information that James H. Stephenson and Martha Montgomery were living in the Southern District of Giles in 1860. Livingston County,Ky deed 1819 Andrew Stephenson to William Dickey,70 acres adj. Gillilans, for $30.Test David Dickey,Jas. Hillhouse.Signed Andrew Stephenson,Jane Stephenson. Rec.24 May 1819. I don't know who Andrew and Jane Stephenson were. Tom Stephenson

    3. HI, I am new to your list but I am looking for information on my ggggrandfather Joel Foster he was born in Virginia in 1797. Was in Tennessee between 1820 and 1835. There is a Joel Foster on the 1830 census of Giles Co. page 89. He is on the Giles Tn index for 1832 ? it doesn't say if it is a state census or if it might be a tax record. I know it is asking a lot but I wonder if anyone has access to the 1830 census that might look it up for me I realize it won't have much info but maybe enough that I can tell if it is him or not. Thanking you in advance. Lenda McGuire researching Foster, McGuire,Womack, Smith, Francis (Francies)
