Surnames: Glasgow,Glasco,Stephenson,Hudson,Ratliff Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SeB.2ACE/718 Message Board Post: Is there any mention of a Susan Delila Glasgow/Glasco as being in a Giles Co,TN cemetery? I believe her to be the "Delila S." on the 1860 census of Giles Co,TN,age 25,wife of John Glasgow. The 1860 Giles census lists her as born in Tennessee. All other records gives her place of birth as South Carolina. George Alexander Stephenson and his wife Elizabeth Sarah Perry are listed on the 1860 census of Giles Co,TN. In 1870, George Stephenson(listed as "Stevenson") was living in Madison Co,Al and Susan Delila, age 33,b. S.C. was living with them. In 1880, Susan,age,40,was living with George Stephenson in Limestone Co,Al. Susan Glasco reappears on the 1900 Delta Co,TX,living in the home George Alexander Stephenson's daughter,Elizabeth Betty Stephenson Ratliff. On that census,Susan gives her age as 62 years old, born May,1838 in South Carolina. She was widowed. Frank Monroe Hudson, who married George Alexander Stephenson's daughter Mary Sue,wrote a diary in which he mentioned that Susan's husband Lt. John Glasgow came home from the Civil War sick and soon died. I have never found his resting place, but it must be in either Madison Co,Al. or Giles Co,TN. On the 1900 census of Delta Co,TX,Susan Glasco had no children. For a long time I thought she had a daughter Mary Glasgow, but now I believe the Mary to be Mary Sue Stephenson, born 1860 in Giles Co,TN. The census taker on the 1880 census of Limesone Co,Al has Susan Glasco, age 40,border and under her name Mary, age 19,border. Why Mary Sue Stephenson would have been listed as a "border" in the home of her father is a mystery. I can't find any record of Susan Glasgow/Glasco after 1900. In 1910 J. D. Ratliff and his wife Elizabeth Betty Stephenson Stephenson were living in Seymour,TX,Baylor Co,TX,but Susan was not with them. Thanks for any help! Tom Stephenson

The 1850 census shows them in Giles Co, TN, with the following children: William C (16), Levey (Levi) (14), Elizabeth (12) and Madison (9). The will (1878) of Samuel mentions wife, three sons and one daughter. Columbus Faught, son, is one of the executors. This is apparently William Columbus, the 16-year old in 1850. Does anyone have any document referring to any other children by name? I have quite a bit of confirmed information on the family of John J Faught, who is supposed to be another of Samuel and Nancy’s sons. If anyone would like this info, please contact me.
