If you get the address of the property near Bee Spring Church, you should be able to find the names of all the property owners, past and present, at the courthouse... or tax office. ___Minnie
Boy, Larry Sawyers email, sure took me back. I lived with my grandparents in 1963/64. There is a piture of the house on the Giles co. web site- called "Worsham Hollow" We did have electricity, but, no running water- I used to have to bring it up, from the well, located at the creek, not far from the house. Every Sunday, Grandma would take the 4 of us to church- we walked, since the family didnt own a car. It seemed like it was so far at the time! Last time I was there in 1982- I measured the distance- 1/4 mile. Anyway, would anyone know the area, I am talking about?? I would liketo know the name of the church. Im pretty sure this house was concidered, as being in Pulaski. Thanks!- and, Larry I hope you found the answers you were looking for. Trish Holaway

Sawyers Larry, I live just 1/2 mile down Bee Spring Road from the church and there is only one or two property owners between me and that property. I don't know who owns the property now, but my next door neighbor is a daughter of the previous owner (Stevenson) and I can find out who they sold it to. As I remember it that property was owned by two brothers until a few years ago. My neighbor lived on the property thru high school and I'll ask for details. You and she must be cousins ... she is Carrie Jane Stevenson Witt. Ken Herren Bee Spring

Does anyone have any information on a John Thomas Stephenson who received the Southern Cross in Huntsville,Madison Co,Al between 1901 and 1920, as outlined at the Madison Co,Alabama website for men who fought for the Confederacy from the Alabama counties of Marshall, Madison and Jackson? John Thomas Stephenson is listed as "Huntsville Pvt. who served in Co. G, 32nd Tennessee Infantry. From what I have found at the Giles Website, Co,G.,32nd TN Infantry was made up of men from Giles Co,TN. A Thomas John Stephenson is buried in the Maple Hill Cemetery.A book called "The Valliant Survivors",by the Madison County Daughters of the Confederacy, has T. J. Stephenson,Co,G.,32nd TN Infantry, Marker # and the numbers 357 and no dates. The book also lists a J.T." Stevenson,"Co,G,32nd TN Infantry,Marker #7,with a birthdate of 1 Feb 1841, with a repeat of the number 357. Two markers for the same man ? On the 1910 census of Madison Co,Al,Meridianville, is a J. T." Stephenson,"age 68,b. TN,wife Mettie H.,38,b.TN and Hugh, son, age 7,TN. Census I have shows only the father of T.J. b.TN There is a J.T. Stephenson who filed an application for a pension in Bedford Co,TN,claiming he fought with the 32nd,but gives no indication of the company Since my Sylvester Brown Stephenson joined the Confederacy in Madison Co,Al,I thought this John Stephenson might be a son of Samuel Stephenson and Mary Shields who settled early in Giles Co,TN and appear again on the 1850 census of Giles, but birth dates don't match. 1850 US Census for District 9, Giles, TN Samuel Stephenson, 53, 1797, SC Mary Stephenson, 53, 1797, SC Mary Stephenson, daughter, 18, AL John Stephenson, son, 16, AL Silvester B Stephenson, son, 13, AL That book "Valliant Survivors" has Jeff Stephenson, buried in the Liberty Hill Cemetery,Madison Co,1833-1886,serving with Spurlock's VA. Cav. This Jeff Stephenson is buried next to William Alexander Stephenson in the lot of George Darwin. This Jeff Stephenson must have been a son of Samuel and Mary Shields because William Alexander Stephenson was their Grandson,W.A. being the son of George Alexander Stephenson and his wife Elizabeth Perry. Samuel Stephenson's father Robert Stephenson served with three Darwin brothers from York Co,S.C. during the American Revolution. W.A. Stephenson married Dolly Darwin in Madison Co,Al in 1879. She was of the Darwins of York Co,S.C. What I find hard to believe is that Jeff would have gone all the way to VA. to serve in the Confederacy. There is a Jefferson Stephenson who served in Spurlock,s Co,of the 8th VA. Cav,but I don't believe he is the same Jeff buried in Madison Co,Al. Any help with the Stephenson/Stevenson of Co,G.,32nd TN Infantry is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for this information. Was this William A. the son of Dr. William A. and Sarah Upshaw Massie? Vicki, I did not mean to be rude. Actually, I did not think you were active on TNGILES site. I never saw anything advising us there was a new post/ or anything. I am sure you are a hard worker. I have not heard anything good or bad about you to form an opinion. Forgive me for hurting your feelings. That was not my intention. I was just very pleased to learn that Ann Jackson is back. Ginny K
I am so pleased to see Anna Jackson is back with us. I understand others are interested in posting for TNGILES Co too. They are also welcome but I particularly want Anna Jackson back on our site as usual. We were talked about on other sites as having the best site on the net. We always knew when something new was added. We could always send in something to be posted and had all the help we needed to be sure it was posted in the best manner available. One of my family photo's even has a click to point to each person in the picture and see what they name was. How neat is that? Welcome Back Anna Jackson. We have all missed you. Ginny Keefer
