    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SeB.2ACE/802.1.1 Message Board Post: My quest, as you can see, is for finding out if MARY STUBBLEFIELD who married William J. Kincaid could be the same person as "Polly" Stubblefield [My GGreatgrandfather Absolom Stubblefield's oldest sister] I went to the Kincaid message board archives & did a search for Stubblefield & read the results of that search, which was about 30 messages from 1998 to 2005. In writing this, it just occurred to me that I should have searched the other spellings of Kincaid. Here is part of one of the archived postings: WILLIAM J. KINCAID/KINGCADE m: MARY STUBBLEFIELD Dec. 5 or 12, 1847 Wilson County, TN. He also married Alice ? and Susan [Usher?] He died before May 22,1875 Ketesville, Chariton Co., MO where he is buried. He was a Farmer. Children by Mary: (1)Martha A. Kincaid/Kingcade b. 1848 TN, IL, or KS m: Jan. 10, 1866 Palmyra Township,Douglas,KS (to) Thomas Burgoon died March 29, 1928 KC, KS. (2)James Henry Kingcade b: 1850 Stockton, CA (3)Martina Kingcade b: Abt. 1856 Children by Alice: (3)Cicely "Emma" Jane Kingcade b: bef. 1865 (4)Jacob Franklin Kingcade b: Sept. 10, 1865 m: Jan 1, 1890 Cass Co. MO (to)Lucinda May Cordell Children by Susan L.: (5)Mary Kingcade b: Apr. 23, 1868 d: Aug. 25, 1872 buried Keytesville Cemetery, Chariton Co., MO 8888888888888888888888888 Martha was the oldest child of that marriage and she is listed here as: m: Jan. 10, 1866 Palmyra Township,Douglas,KS (to) Thomas Burgoon I suggest that you search the archives of the different message boards that might have information for you to use in your search. Notice that in this information the name is spelled Kingcade. Good luck

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SeB.2ACE/802.1 Message Board Post: I am interested in any info you might have on the William J. Kincaid. I have hit a brick wall with my Martha possibly Kincaid who was married to Benjamin Williams. In the 1850 Giles Co. census, they have David Kincaid living with them which leads me to believe that Martha may be a Kincaid. Martha was born abt. 1823 and died before 1860. Do you by any chance have anything on a Martha Kincaid? Julie

MO (to)Lucinda May Cordell Children by Susan L.: (5)Mary Kingcade b: Apr. 23, 1868 d: Aug. 25, 1872 buried Keytesville Cemetery, Chariton Co., MO My interest is in proving whether MARY STUBBLEFIELD [that married William J. Kincaid] could be "my" missing "POLLY" STUBBLEFIELD [sister to my GGreatgrandfather ABSOLOM STUBBLEFIELD]. (1) We think we find this family listed in the 1850 Giles Co. TN census: In 1850 Tenn Census this listing for Wm J Kinkead (sp?) Giles Co Tn #354 William J KINKAID 21 TN Polly 25 Ala Martha 2 TN James 2/12 TN And it is interesting that the wife's name is Polly, born in Alabama ["my" Polly's POB] (2) Mary's marriage is listed among the marriages of her siblings in the same timeframe as her siblings in Wilson Co., TN. (3) Kincaid moves her & children to CA & settles near to her mother & sibling families. (4) Mary's death is at about the same time as we find a [new ] grandson listed in the household of Polly's mother in the 1860 census. If this Mary is "my" Polly she was born 1819 and would have been 27-28 when she married WJ Kincaid, who was born in 1831 so was 16-17 at his marriage to Mary. Going on that basis, Mary most likely have been married before & brought a son to this marriage. This would be Ed Chappell, old enough to leave home, & join up with his maternal grandmother's family, when [his mother?] Mary died. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome

    1. Curry and Stephenson
    2. Tommy Stephenson
    3. I noticed several Curry families on various Giles Co,TN census records. I am searching for a Sarah J. Curry who was 56 years old on the 1910 census of Ellis County,TX. Her birthplace and that of her parents was Tennessee. Sarah Jane Curry married a John Morgan Stephenson who lived in the Mountain Peak area of Ellis Co,TX. In 1904, in Ellis County,TX, J. H. Stephenson of Mountain Peak died and his obituary stated that he had a brother S.B. Stephenson of Waxhahacie,TX,Ellis Co,TN. I believe the S.B. Stephenson to be Sylvester Brown Stephenson who appears on the 1850 and 1870 census of Giles Co,TN and who died in Waxahachie,TX in 1906. John Morgan Stephenson, husband of Sarah J. Curry, was 56 years old in 1910,born TN and both parents born Alabama. I believe J.H.Stephenson was the father of John Morgan Stephenson and I also believe that J. H. Stephenson is the James H. Stephenson who appears on the the 1860 census of Giles Co,TN. The census index of 1860 has James H. Stephenson as James K. Stephenson, but correct name on the census. The wife of James H. Stephenson on the 1860 census is a Martha M. age 33. They have a son John W. Stephenson, age 3, who fits the age of John Morgan Stephenson on the 1910 census of Ellis, age 56. Martha M. Stephenson was living with her son John Morgan Stephenson in Ellis in 1910. She was a widow. The 1900 census of Ellis Co,has James H. Stephenson, age 73,b. Alabama and both parents born South Carolina. That would make his parents Samuel Stephenson and Mary Shields, both born S.C and once residents of Giles County,TN. James H. Stephenson was age 31 on the 1860 census of Giles,so there is not a match here, but his wife Martha M. is age 74 in 1900,born Alabama and both parents born South Carolina. I think that Sarah J. Curry might have been from Giles Co,TN. My Stephensons also lived in Limestone Co,Al.for many years. If anyone has information on Sarah J. Curry,it would be greatly appreciated. Mountain Peek is near Midlothian,TX in Ellis Co,TX. There is mention of George B. Curry in Ellis Co,TX who served with the 48th Tennessee Infantry. The 48th was recruited from Maury, and Lawrence Co,TN and another county which I can't remember at this time.

    3. Still trying to locate the soldiers from Giles Co on post yesterday from me. I wonder if the Dice? Jones was actually Daniel Jones.
