Author: jsboat1 Surnames: Boatright, English, Birdsong Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.tennessee.counties.giles/1958/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm looking for a cemetery called "Old Bailey Graveyard". It is mentioned in the Pulaski Citizen of Dec. 2, 1897 as the resting place of at least four Boatrights. Two brothers and two sisters who were buried side by side. It may be located in the Yokely/Old Lynnville area as that is where they lived. A search of the Giles County cemetery book doesn't list a cemetery of this name nor list the deceased. He's on the 1836 tax roll (Dist. 14); he's listed in the 1840 and 1850 Censuses as well with his wife Elizabeth and three children (James, Mary, Martha and Elisha). However, he apparently died before 1860, as he's not listed in the Census with the rest of the family (nor is James). The family is in the Memphis area in 1860. Is he buried in a Giles County cemetery (most likely so)? If so, where, and when did he die? James is my great-great grandfather; he was married by 1860, with one child. Can't find him either. Any tidbits of information would be most welcome and appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Anna, I did not send a photo, only a message that was left on the McClennan Co., TX message board. The lady who posted it is looking to return the photo and an original marriage certificate to a family member and since Sterling Robertson was once in Giles County, I thought that someone in the county would be interested. Well, it didn't forward so below is the original message I've "rescued" an old photograph of Lorena WESTBROOK of Waco, Texas which was likely taken in the 1860's or 1870's when she was about 6-7 years old. I had the opportunity of coming into contact with a man by the surname of Tucker who was from Pulaski TN several years ago in the most inopportune way. Unfortunately he had just slammed his motorcycle into a ditch and was awaiting the ambulance but I judged him not to have life threatening injuries at the time. That event occurred on hwy 231, 7 or so miles north of Fayetteville Tennessee upon the Chestnut Ridge where the road is very curvy. I did not get his given name He was probably in his middle thirties something around 10 years ago. So I know that surname is quite active in Pulaski. There was John Tucker who was on the school board for years and he is still kicking in his 80's now and he has sons. My daughter-in-law's mother is a Tucker so there are plenty to choose from. Surely someone on the list knows one personally. kennybob

I am looking for a male direct descendant of Clinton TUCKER b.1789 Lincoln Co NC or his brother George TUCKER b. 1787 NC, d Giles Co, TN. I have a transcription of his will. Would like to locate a male cousin for DNA testing. And to Barbara Neely Hearn: Have you looked at a webpage refering to TUCKERS/HEARNS? If not, would be glad to forward to you. And your name NEELY. There's a Neely TUCKER in Warren County TN in early 1800's I'd like to know more about. I thought Neely was an odd first name. Thank you Carol Gaines

If the information is correct that I have there was a James G. Montgomery living in Limestone Co,Alabama in 1850 who was born in North Carolina in 1780. In his house was a Martha M. Montgomery, age 25,b.Alabama. I don't believe this is the James Montgomery who married Margaret Stephenson in York Co,S.C. James H. Stephenson and wife and James'brother Sylvester Brown Stephenson went from Giles Co,TN.to Ellis County,TX where they appear on census records of 1890 and 1900. I am also interested in the marriage of a Joseph Montgomery to Mary Polly Brunson as I believe there is a connection to the Brunsons of Giles Co,TN.
