    3. Thanks, Sue. I actually struck paydirt and found a ton of information on the family on the old Giles County Rootsweb site. It is very well-sourced and provided me with all the necessary information on Thomas Jeffress Walker. Unfortunately it also tells me that he's not the right guy, so I'm back to square one. I just feel I'm getting really close. https://sites.rootsweb.com/~tngiles//charts/walker1.htm Jane On Sun, Jul 28, 2019 at 5:00 PM Sue Davis <sdavis5391@gmail.com> wrote: > I just looked through that book. 2. Tommy Stephenson
    3. | Thank you for responding to my message.  We believe that Elillies Barron  and her brother Samuel Barron were the children of Abraham Barron who appears on the 1820 census of Giles Co,TN.  Elillies Barron was born in 1792 probably in Pendleton Co,SC.   A William Leonard died in Pendleton in 1811. In Giles Co,TN in 1819,Samuel Barron and his wife Polly or Mary Ann Leonard and Polly's sister Honor Malinda Leonard who married Micajah Beal hired Andrew Keith of Giles Co,TN to dispose of the land left to them by William Leonard in Pendleton Co,S.C. Andrew Keith was the son of Daniel Keith and Elizabeth Liddell of Pendleton Co,SC. Alexander Barron Jr. on the 1820 Census of Giles Co,TN married another Elizabeth Liddell of Pendleton Co,SC. In the Barron-Gordon Cemetery in St. Francois,MO is an Abraham Barron b. 1818 who was the son of a Samuel and Polly Barron.  Elillies Barron White, who went to Madison Co,MO, also named one of her children Abraham.  There was a William Barron Sr. and William Barron Jr. on the 1820 Census of Giles Co,TN. William Barron Jr. b. 1801 in South Carolina went to Marshall Co,TN. A William Barron married Lavina Martin in Lawrence Co,Alabama in 1834. In the Elk Ridge Cemetery in Giles is buried a John Barron and on the tombstone is William and Louvina Barron. My Dorcas Stephenson Barron, wife of John Barron, appears on the 1820 census Giles. John Barron is believed to have died ca. 1823 and is probably buried in the Elk Ridge Cemetery.  Dorcas either remarried or she died. Nothing is known about her after 1820.Alexander Barron Jr. and Elizabeth Liddell went to Lauderdale Co,Alabama. My Barrons came from Maryland to York County,SC before 1778.Some of them went to Pendleton Co,SC and then to Giles Co,TN.  --- On Sat, 4/6/13, gc-gateway@rootsweb.com <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> wrote: From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [TNGILES] Elias White and Elillies Barron To: TNGILES-L@rootsweb.com Date: Saturday, April 6, 2013, 11:42 PM This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. 3. Hi everyone! Sorry to start another thread of messages so close to a Surname Shout Out but with the lists being down the first part of the year it threw my scheduling off. Hope you don't mind... With this being the Memorial Day Weekend, I thought it would it be interesting to post one ancestor we have in our family trees who served in one of the many wars and battles we fought in US History. Obviously it has to be an ancestor from this county. :) Give a brief biography of that person including the unit and war he or she was in, a POW, injuries, plus the usual genealogical stuff. Thanks in advance and have a safe weekend! Rick B Admin

    3. Hello, I have William Henderson Pearson. I cannot find parents for him. I have an inkling that at some point, perhaps a mistake in a census, the name might possibly have been entered as Pierce, by the way they could be confused in hearing. Some relative sent me a recording of a bunch of Pearson men having a get together over dinner, and when they talked, the Pearson did actually sound very much like Pierce. So, that makes me wonder why this man is such a dead end as far as records go. Thank you. 3. I've "rescued" an old funeral card including a photograph of Orleana NEWTON who was born 5 May 1857 and died 17 Feb 1924. Based on limited information I was able to locate the following information regarding Orleana and her family: E. Orlena or Orlina E. BECK was b. 5 May 1857 in Marshall, TN to parents Marcella or Marcellus Q. BECK (1836-1870) and Mary or Sarah Jane PATTERSON (1838-1906). Orlena was one of 7 children born to this couple including, Orlina; William Henry James or James W.; Mary "Mollie" Jane; Shilo or Sheal or Shered W.; and Savannah E. Orlena's sister Mollie BECK married into the DOW Family and then later into the HOPPER Family and her sister Savannah married into the ROSE Family. Her daughter Allie married into the BRITTON Family, and daughter Lola married into the ROBERTS Family. As the funeral card indicates, Orlena died 17 Feb 1924 in Giles County, TN.
