Jan.26, 1898 was the son of Joseph Thomas and Nina McAliley. Born in Gibson County Tn., he was my father's 1st cousin (Walter Lee Thomas, 1901-1989) and a close family friend. He died while I was in the South Pacific during WWII and my records show it 1945 but I'm not sure. He died in the Veteran's Hospital in Memphis I think--all I'm certain of is that he was a machine gunner in the Meuse-Argonne (sp?) in France in WWI, never married so he was elegible for the draft for WWII. When he was called up, he broke and died shortly thereafter. Hope that helps.
