He married Mary Jane Barton and eventually lived in Independence Co Arkansas. Supposedly Newton's father was James Smith Jones b 1810 SC and his mother Lavina Smith Jones b 1818 SC. Would like to find out if Newton had brothers/sisters and also who were the parents of James Smith Jones.
