Hello, I am new to the list. My ancestor George Wood first shows up in Tipton Co., TN on the census of 1880, age 22. The problem is that he is a clerk in a store and I can't find who his parents are. The only two families that I can find on the census records of 1860 and 1870 in TN who have a son the right age, named George are, James E. Wood of Gibson Co. and Albert Wood of Shelby Co.. In both those families, their George is not in the household in 1880. Does anyone have any knowledge of James E. Wood and Mary Moody's son, George? Do you know if he could be my George in Tipton Co., TN in 1880. My George married Bettie Harris in 1882, the daughter of Hudson Harris. Also, wondering if there are any Will books of Gibson Co., TN transcribed wills to see if James E. Wood left a will. He was still alive in 1880. Also, if anyone knows the Albert Wood family of Shelby Co., TN and what happened to his George, that would be wonderful, too. Any help will be appreciated.
