Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ReB.2ACE/2759 Message Board Post: I am trying to find information on my gr, gr, gr grandfather William W. Williamson and his son George W. Williamson, born in 1847, who is my gr, gr, grandfather. William W. was born in Rutherford Co., TN between 1809-1818 in TN/NC. At the time I think Rutherford Co. was a part of the eastern District of NC. He married a Nancy Bryant. They had 9 children. They moved McNairy Co., TN then to Henderson Co., TN where William and his son, George both enlisted in the Union Army in 1862. They were captured and released and on his way to a new base, William was killed in March of 1864 in Hardin Co., TN. George was captured again and spent 13 months in Andersonville Prison in GA. William's widow, Nancy, and his son, George and families were living in Hardin Co., TN on the 1870 census. I am trying to find out if my Williamson's are related to the Williamson's in Milan who immigrated from Rutherford Co., TN. George and his wife, Talisa Hopper Williamson, and family were in Milan around 1880 when their son William C. Williamson was born. Also on the 1880 census, Talisa Hopper Williamson's brother Merida Hopper and famly were living in Milan, alon! g with their mother and step father, Avis Ann and Thomas R. Benton. The Hopper's in my family also married into the Adams family from NC and TN. I would appreciate any help. Thanks Charlotte McClain Christensen. ly68@charter.net
