On the 1877 D. G. Beers and Co. map of Gibson County, District 2 is in between District 1 and District 3 and all three districts adjoin Madison County on their southern border. District 1 has the town of Medina not far from the eastern border of District 2, and District 3 has the town of Humboldt not far from the western border of District 2, but I could not locate any towns within District 1 itself. Since the map is dated 1877, there would be 27 years between the census of 1850 and the making of the map, and there might have been changes, but it gives you a starting point for research. Sorry, this message should have read "I could not locate any towns within District 2 itself", since I had earlier indicated that the town of Medina was in District 1. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alice King" <lwkank@bellsouth.net> To: <TNGIBSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 25, 2006 4:14 PM Subject: Re: [Tngibson] Civil districts of 1850 census > On the 1877 D.
