Hi Alice & Richard & Vicki, My mother has a book "Alvin King, His Ancestors & Descendants, 1630-1996," by Allene Hill and Juanita Lowrence (who were sisters and also cousins of my Mom's). In this book it shows your elder Jacob Flowers (1763-1853) married to Lavinia ____. They had 13 children. Jacob's parents are listed as Simon Flowers and an unknown first wife. A number of siblings are also listed. Simon Flowers' parents are listed as John and Mary Flowers. Mom says it is Tollie Gordon Road. She is Dorothy Jean King-Powell and she is originally from Dyer, TN. Her computer is sick right now, so I'm relaying messages for her. Alice, I notice you have the same server (HCOL) as I do so you must be near. My mother wants to know if you were akin to the Crouse family. Are we cousins? To get to Flowers Cemetery, traveling from Dyer toward Rutherford on Highway 45, you turn left onto Gravett Crossing Road, then turn left again on Tollie Gordon Rd when you reach it. The cemetery is a short distance down this road on the right. It wasn't marked when I visited it and was badly overgrown although some of the stones were still visible. As I recall it is across the road from a house in which a Mr. Brown lives. The cemetery was transcribed by Emily B. Walker in November of 1981. If you are looking for someone specifically, I could check her listings for you. The map in her book showing the location of the cemeteries lists the road as Tommie Gordon Road, but the telephone book lists it as Tollie Gordon Road, so I think there must be an error on the map in the book. > Which of Jacob's children are you descended from?
