If someone is looking for Fletchers in gibson County, I might be able to help. There were at least two brothers, Thomas and William Fletcher and a sister Mitilda Biggs who came from NC to Gibson county around 1830. My line goes to William Fletcher born 1780 in Maryland and died 1844 near Dyer, Tenn. There is a large family of Fletchers that lived in that Curry community for 150 years. I have searched all the cemeteries and know where some of them are buried. Some are buried in unmarked graves. I was not able to find Williams grave or his son Henry or Henry's son Abner J. Fletcher but I know they are there somewhere. I have the will of both Thomas and William. Williams children were Josiah Fletcher who married Rebecca Forrester, Henry who married Mary Wilkins and Caroline Piolate, Martha Fletcher, Elizabeth Margaret Fletcher, Nancy Fletcher who married Stephen Snowden, Matilda Fletcher, John Fletcher and Abner J Fletcher who married Mary O Wilkes and Martha J. Johnson. Abner lived in Rutherford and is buried there in the Rutherford Cemetery. There is a Moses Fletcher and I have been sure where he belongs. I have him as a chld of William but he could be a brother or a son of Thomas. In the 1850 census Thomas Fletcher and Sarah have 3 children at home who are Isaac, Elizabeth, and Kissiah. There was a Reuben Fletcher who was a child of Thomas. This is a start If you wish more, contact me. Peggy Sample Reen at email parkave1@gte.net I was born in Rutherford and Abner J Fletcher was my Great Great grand father. -----Original Message----- From: Charles McCollum <enolaren@bellsouth.net> To: TNGIBSON-L@rootsweb.com <TNGIBSON-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Wednesday, July 28, 1999 4:10 PM Subject: [TNGIBSON-L] Fletchers: >Who ever it was looking for information on Fletchers of Gibson County in >the last 12 months please contact me.
