You don't say when he was born and when he died, but if he's your great grandfather, you should be able to find him in the census. Start with the 1920 census and work backwards. If you don't know how to use the census, check Cyndi's list under the category census. http://www.cyndislist.com There are death records for TN from 1908 to the present (except 1913), and indices to the death records for 1908 to 1945 or 1946 (separate index for each year). I might be able to look him or someone else up in the index after I get home, but I would need the approximate year of death and full name. The index does not give any other information other than the date and county of death and name of the person and a page number or certificate number, but you get an idea of what you can get from TN Vital Statistics or the Archives. There are marriage records for Gibson County from about 1824 to 1950 that have been published by the LDS church. The only copy I know of is in the TN archives, but I would assume that the Gibson Co., TN library has a copy, too. It should be available at your local LDS library on microfilm or microfiche. The LDS libraries are called Family History Centers. Check your local phone book, or look through Cyndi's list for more information. Don't worry, they won't try to convert you. There are published cemetery records for Gibson Co. You might be able to get the books on interlibrary loan at your local library. Check the Library of Congress Catalog for the full reference to the book http://www.loc.gov or someone on the Gibson co., TN mailing list might have a copy. Plus, many of the cemetary are on the Gibson Co. GenWeb page, where you posted this query. > ----- Original Message ----- > > NAME: Elizabeth > > EMAIL: dusti004@bellsouth.net > > QRYTEXT: Do you know anythang abouth D.C.Jones.He was my great > grandfather > he married Tincy. They lived in gibson county. > > I know they had 3 girls Anne, Myrtie & Tommie G.Any infor you can > give me > abouth him would be great.. ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET!
