The Memphis Daily Appeal on 27 Aug 1878 ran this list of local citizens who having fled the city because of the Yellow Fever Epidemic registered their temporary residences with the paper: Mrs.B.H.Dye----Trenton,Tenn. The Memphis Ledger in its issue of 4 Nov 1878 ran a list of friends who returned the previous night on the Louisville Railroad and where they had been during the epidemic: >From Trenton,Tenn: J.M.Patterson, Joe Sheppard, Mrs.Jule Simmons and family. Wade-Russell: The Hon.W.W.Wade, representative of Gibson County, and Miss Annie Russell, accomplished daughter of Col.R.M.Russell, were married at Trenton Wednesday, Rev.J.T.Rothrock officiating.
