Does Gibson County have an index to court cases that goes back to 1882? There is no microfilm version of an index (on the TN state site). I have enough money to order 2 rolls of microfilm so I'd like to get the 2 that will have the data I'm looking for. If anyone in the County could look for me, I'm looking for the murder trial of H.J. (Henderson Judge) Markham/Marcrum/Marcum. He was arraigned in June 1882 for killing Elisha Harrison May 1, 1882. I wrote and distributed a Varner family history at a reunion last week which mentioned the murder and now everyone wants to know how it ended. That's how I came up with the funds to order the film, my cousins want to know! I'm also looking for further data on a guardian bond on George W. Varner, signed in 1869 by Sandy Varner and William Varner. Did they report to the courts in later years? If so, which one? Circuit, Chancery, or Probate?
