Miss Annie White and Mr.Homer Jones were quietly married in Jackson last week. Bob Scott,of Jackson,attended the funeral of his uncle,S.L.Scott Wednesday. Mrs.Annie Moore of Milan,has been here during the illness and death of her brother,S.L.Scott. Mr.Ernest Scott & sister,Miss Lalah of Dallas,TX,attended the funeral of their father,S.L.Scott,Wednesday. Mr.S.L.Scott died Tuesday morning at 3 a.m. at his home on College Street,he was 66 years of age,interment in Oakland Cem.He is survived by his widow and 13 children;Misses Miriam & Edith of this place;Misses Gertie,Lalah & Lena of Dallas,Tx.;Miss Nannie Mai of Shreveport,La.;Mesdames C.P.Miller & R.Blair of Dallas,TX;five sons,Harry,Claude,Earl,Clifton & ernest,all of Tx. Born to Mr.& Mrs.Tony Conway on Monday,Dec.7th,a girl. Trenton,TN.,Dec.8---Prof.Chas.Morris,Principal of the Edison High School,was quite severly,although not fatally wounded to-day by knife wounds inflicted in and about the throat,in the hands of Buster Ward,also of near Edison.It seems the trouble arose over a recently-made rule of the prinicple,in which it was against his will that the boys and girls be together to and from school,this rule was being repeatedly broken and to enforce it,he suspended pupils who broke the rules.It seems that Mr.Ward had done the courtesy of extending to Miss Cora Mai Tuggle,a young lady of about 16,a seat behind him on his stead.She was suspended from scholl.(Morris was refered to also as Morrison in the article) In Memory----Mr.Arch Sloan's great grandparents came from Scotland to this country during a religious persecution.His grandfather, ?.D.Sloan,settled within four miles of Humboldt.His father,Archibald W.Sloan was reared on the adjoining farm.There Arch E.Sloan was reared.He joined the Methodist Episcopal Church South at the age of 27 years,and held his membership 20 years.He died Nov.24th,1914. Nashville,TN.,Dec.4----Robert Primm,son of the late ex-sheriff J.W.Primm of Rutherford County,was shot and killed at Murfreesboro this afternoon by Policeman Fount Pitts.It is claimed that Primm was arrested after a complaint that he was raising a distrubance.Primm asked to be allowed to go to his store and close it.He remained inside longer than Pitts expected and when Pitts went in after him,it is claimed that primm sprang at him with a large butcher knife.Cut off from the door and cornered Pitts drew his revolver and fired one shot which killed Primm.
