Soldier's Death Roll:DARNEL-died at the Regimental hospital August 22nd;Corporal Elias Darnel of Co.I,12th R.W.V.,aged 24 years. HUMBOLDT JOURNAL HUMBOLTD,TN April 25th,1873 Mrs.Edith Layman of Crockett Co.,TN,died last month at the age of 115 years. Miss McPherson of Lauderdale County,TN was killed by a discharge from a gun which a lad of ten years was handling too carelessly. HUMBOLDT JOURNAL HUMBOLDT,TN June 19,1874 We learn that a colored man named Henry Lindsey,living on the farm of Mr.Bell,near Bells'Station,was shot by a mob Thursday night of last week.It is thought that he was shot by a mob of negroes,with whom he had previously had a difficulty.Seventeen shots took effect.
