Humboldt,Tennessee June 9th,1916 continued TENNESSEE NEWS TOLD BRIEFLY---Arthur Love died at Bristol Monday as the result of a blow received on the head by a brickbat at the hands of Henderson McNutt.Both were boys of about 19 years of age. Dr.W.L.Tadlock,41,of Talbott's near Morristown,and his nephew,Hubert Deatherage,25,living at Harriman were killed,and Mrs.Talbot,35,fatally injured Monday night when their auto was struck by the Carolina Special,a Southern Railway fast train. The body of J.P.Dolan,who was drowned in the Tennessee River at Jacksonville Friday,where he was working on thr bridge of the Nashville,Chatanooga & St.Louis Railway,was recovered early Monday and sent to his home at McEwen,TN. The body of Arlo Green was discovered in an old well near Cassville a few days ago.Young Green disappeared April 29th.A well-known citizen and a negro were arrested. As a result of a pistol wound,accidently inflicted Sunday morning,Miss Hester Scott,aged 20,daughter of John Scott was killed in her home 10 miles south of Lexington.Silas Little,son of John Little was with her when the accident occurred. SOCIETY---The marriage of Miss Olivia Pauline Clark and Mr.John P.Sharp was celebrated at high noon Thursday at the M.E.Church,Rev.Duckworth officiating. On Sunday afternoon,June 4th at the parsonage of the Jackson circuit,a marriage was solmnized,when Mrs.Annie DeLoach Shelton of near the city became the wife of Charles Edwin Day,a business man of Jackson Born to Mr.& Mrs.Joe Loughmiller on Saturday June 3rd.,a daughter. Dr.& Mrs.D.T.Andrews of Medina,attended the funeral of Mrs.Jane Bethshares on Thursday here. THE DEAD---Mrs.Lucretia Cox died at her home on Main Street & 17th Avenue,Sunday afternoon at 2:50,after a long illness,and the remains were buried in Rose Hill Cemetery Monday morning.She was the widow of M.T.Cox,who died some years ago,and is survived by two sons,Messrs.Fred & Will Cox;one daughter,Mrs.W.A.Senter.She was about 65 years of age. MRS.JANE BETHSHARES died at her home in this city on Wednesday night at 8:30,after three weeks illness.Shw was in her 74th year and is survived by one son,T.B.Bethshares and one daughter,Mrs.John M.Ray of Memphis.Her husband died a number of years ago.Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery..
