Humboldt,Tennessee Friday May 5,1916 LOCAL NEWS---Mrs.Highful of Caruthersville,MO.,attended the funeral of her sister,Mrs.K.C.Gordon,Wednesday. Mrs.Rollin Clark of Dermont,AR.,and Robert Adams of VA., were called home this week on account of the critical illness of their father,T.J.Adams. Mrs.K.C.Gordon,who has been confined in a Memphis hospital for a number of weeks,was brought home Sunday night.It was hoped she would live sometime after returning home,but the end came early Tuesday evening.Interment in Oakland Cemetery. The wedding of Miss Annie Lewis Tyree and Mr.Emmett Wade were solmnized Wednesday evening at the home of Mr.& Mrs.John Wade. SISTER ACCIDENTLY KILLED BY BROTHER---A most deplorable accident occurred in the 16th District of Madison County Wednesdat,in which Mrs.Finis Milam lost her life.The accidental discharge of a pistol which her brother,Dave Bonds was attempting to unload,caused the wound from which Mrs.Milam died about 11 p.m. Wed.She was about 22 years of age.She is survived by her husband and 3 year old son.The accident occurred at the home of Wink Bonds,father of Dave Bonds and Mrs.Milam.Interment at Antioch. CROCKETT COUNTY NEWS FROM ALAMO---Mr.O.E.Howell was all asmiles Saturday morning and his friends were congratulating him on the arrival of two little gentlemen at his home Friday night.The mother was quite ill for several days but is now convalescing. Mrs.Neal McMillen spent the weekend in Bells ,the guest of her daughter,Mrs.Jim Midyett. NEWS AMONG OUR NEIGHBORS---Mrs.Lula Harris died at her home in Huntingdon last week.She was a sister of Messrs;Sam,Will and Joe Pinkley of this county. Mr.Fenner Moore,formerly of near Moore's Chapel,this county,was killed in an automobile accident near his home in Okla., a few days ago.He was a brother of Dr.Moore of Laneview,this county. A young man named Winston Tomlinson residing near Kenton,was accidently killed while deiving a manure spreader on Tuesday of last week.Burial in Cane Creek Cemetery. SOCIAL AND PERSONAL---Mesdames M.V.Gowen,Attie Seay and G.W.Olivar attended the funeral of Mrs.Neil Thompson at Antioch Monday. Mr.Will Palmer,living near Mt.Zion,died Tuesday after a lingering illness of tuberculosis;interment at Antioch. SANDERS BLUFF---The Death Angel visited the home of Mr.Will Thompsom Sunday night and took from them,their mother,Mrs.Sallie Thompson. Mr.& Mrs.Sam THompson were at the bedside of his mother,Mrs.Sallie Thompson Saturday night and Sunday. Mr,Don Baker died Monday after a lingering illness.He leaves a wife and one child;also a step-son and aged parents.
