I'd like to find some reference to Dr. Rufus Wiley Peacock in the Civil Warr. He was my GG Grandfather. Handed down family tradition is that he was a surgeon in the war, but some say for the north and some say for the south. I have found one reference through Internet research to a Dr. Peacock treating someone at Brownsville Hospital, but don't know if that was him. He was in the 1850 Henry Cnty. census and the 1860 Haywood Cnty census.
