I have a question! We just received the will of our 6th grgrandfather, John Vance who died in Newcastle Co. Delaware in 1727. (Mill Creek Hundred) Not every single portion is readable but a big part is. In it he bequeaths his plantation and home furnishings to his wife and children (they must have been young) and his clothes to his father, etc. He doesn't bother to give ANY of his families names! Then he starts naming all the folks who owe him money..........quite a few. THEN he starts leaving various lbs. and shillings to a bunch of named folks, too. My cousin thinks this is people HE owed but I've never seen a will that named debtors. I think they all are family. Anyone ever run across anything like this in a will? Vicki
