Little Marie DAVIS,who had for eight long weeks,suffered from tubercular trouble,passed to the Great Beyond on last Thursday,April 8th.She was eight years of age.Her parents,Mr.& Mrs.A.P.DAVIS,brothers and sisters have our sympathy. ---LOCAL NEWS HAPPENINGS IN AND ABOUT TOWN---Joe NEILSON of St.Louis,is here visiting his mother,Mrs.J.T.BROWN. Mr.Charlie McKNIGHT,of Rutherford spent Sunday here.He came on account of the illness of his uncle,Mr.W.H.McKNIGHT. ---SOCIETY---The marriage of Miss Ada Thorpe FOX and Whitney MORGAN was solemnized on Wednesday evening at the First Methodist Church. BORN to Mr.& Mrs.Charlie WATKINS,of Searcy,Ark.,on last Saturday,a fine girl. Ray MORGAN died at his home Wednesday morning,after a short illness. News has been received here telling of the death of Mr.Tom SPIGHT,a missionary,who died in Florida Tuesday.He is the son of Mr.W.D.SPIGHT of this city. ---CROCKETT COUNTY NEWS FROM ALAMO---Warrem PATRICK,of Mobile,Ala.,is here at the bedside of his mother,who is quite ill at her home on Burns Street. ---ITEMS OF INTEREST FROM GADSDEN---After more than a year of suffering from that dread disease,tuberculosis,Arthur SIMMONS passed away on last Thursday at the home of his father,A.P.SIMMONS.Interment in Young Cemetery.He was 30 years of age,leaves his father,three brothers and ten sisters to mourn his death. ---EDISON NEWS ITEMS OF INTEREST---Mr.L.B.LAWLER died of pneumonia at the home of his daughter,Mrs.Jack BOSWELL,on last Thursday.He leaves two sons and five brothers.Interment at Oak Grove. ---DIES IN MEMPHIS---Roy MORGAN died at a sanitarium in Memphis at an early hour Wednesday and his remains were brought to his home in this city.He was in his 36th year and came to Trenton several years ago from Gibson.He is survived by his wife,three small children,and several brothers and sisters.Interment in Gibson. ---LOCAL HAPPENINGS IN AND ABOUT TOWN---Mr.Whitney MORGAN attended the funeral of his brother,Mr.Roy MORGAN,which occurred at Gibson Thursday. Mr.J.W.ROE carried his daughter,Annie Dell,to the Presbyterian Hospital in Memphis where she was operated on for appendicitis.She is reported doing well. ---YOUNG LADY INSTANTLY KILLED BY TRAIN---Paris,Tennessee,April 16th.-An automobile driven by Miss Martha SWINNEY,was struck by passenger train #5 on the N.C.& St.L.Railway at the Dunlap Crossing here today killing her instantly and painfully bruising her companion,B.M.COCKRELL,of Jackson,TN.Miss SWINNEY was 24 years of age,the daughter of Mr.& Mrs.Henry B.SWINNEY of Chickasaw Suburbs.The scene of the accident is where Dr.R.J.McFALL,a prominent physician of Paris,was killed in a similar manner.At that point,there is an embankment which partly obscures an approaching train as it rounds a curve before crossing the street. ---ENTERPRISE ITEMS---Mrs.Mollie May HILL and two children spent Sunday at Bells with her sister,Mrs.J.B.EDWARDS,who celebrated her little daughter,Elizabeth Bradford’s fourth birthday. Miss Florence LETT attended the funeral of Mr.HYDE at Milan Monday. ---SOCIETY---A quiet home wedding with only members of the immediate families present,took place at the residence of the bride’s parents in this city on Tuesday,April 20th,when Miss Mary H.SENTER,daughter of Mr.& Mrs.A.H.SENTER was united in marriage with Mr.Marion HENDERSON,of Bells,Tennessee.They will make their home in Crockett Mills. The marriage of Miss Lillian OBELY and Mr.Elmer THOMPSON was beautifully solemnized on last Wednesday,the ceremony being said by the grandfather of the groom,Rev.J.H.PRICE. Mrs.H.L.CATES, Mrs.George GOOSMAN, and daughter,Miss Willie Mae, and Miss Alta Mai MIDYETT,of Bells,spent Thursday shopping in Humboldt.
