    1. Canady/Canada/Kennedy Families
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ReB.2ACE/2774 Message Board Post: I am compiling a lineage of the Canady/Kennedy family that migrated to Gibson County between 1820 and 1830. To date I have listed four brothers who arrived with the large contingent of settlers who came from Moore County, North Carolina. Hardy and Patrick Canady remained in Gibson County; David Canady moved to Troy, Obion County; and Charles Canady moved to Mine Creek District, Hemstead, Arkansas. I believe these four men were sons of either David or John Kennedy in Moore County. The Kennedy families migrated to North Carolina from Pennsylvania prior to 1790 and were engaged in the manufacturing of the North Carolina Longrifles. Several signed copies of those longrifles are still in existence today. Any information concerning those families would be appreciated.
