Private Michael M. Holt enlisted in CO M,6th Tennessee Cavalry USA at North Gibson, TN on 1 Aug. 1862. He met and became friends with Sgt. Moses Vandever Lewis, CO B, 7th Volunteer Cavalry during the war. Years later Holt may have signed Moses pension papers. The parents of Moses Lewis are a Samuel and Bricey(Holt) Lewis of somewhere in TN. I am trying to see if there is a connection between Michael and Bricey. Thank you. Greig Lewis

I did this myself by contacting Mt Pleasant Church to find who had the old cemetery records for that cemetery. I just called the church one afternoon, the pastor's wife was there and gave me the contact person and phone number. As far as a good time to call the church to actually talk with someone, that's hard to say, but some even have answering machines and will return your call. I also checked my phone directory to see if their was a separate listing for the parsonage, but there was not. As you mother lives near the church, you might get her to call at various times, to try to talk to someone, in case there is no answering machine. If your mother is not a member, maybe she knows someone who is and seek information from them. Hope I was of some help to you. Best regards, Kay
